"Maga Aeronwy is refreshingly earnest.
There is a difference between being earnest, and honest. Honesty would lead to her admission that she is not comfortable wielding power over another. Honesty would replace her need to prove her strength with the acceptance of her insecurity. Honesty is merely a self-aggrandizing explanation of past deeds, as well as a justification for present weakness. It solves nothing, and leads nowhere.
To be earnest, however, is to look to the future. To act based on who one wants to be, rather than who one is. To act, despite insecurity and discomfort, in the way one judges is best. This is a mark of true strength...not the whimsical and ephemeral virtue of honesty, but rather the impetus gained from the application of will.
Aeronwy, I judge, understands this truth instinctively. I intend to watch her career with great interest."
