"Maga Shayla is a woman of much potential. She has power, talent, and courage. She also carries the burdens of her past. I believe these burdens are the source of her strengths, but also her weakness. She will have to choose to lay these burdens aside, master her passions, and forge herself into a leader before she can throw off the shackles of her maligned beginnings and begin to reap the benefits of being a member of the Order of Hermes."

Shayla spends far too much energy worrying about whether she is the person that others think she is, and what kind of person that might be. She has almost no strength left after to figure out what kind of person she actually wants herself to be, much less to try and become that person. Telling her I believe in her won't do any good until she actually decides to believe in herself. Faith is a choice. So is hope.
